I was searching for an awesome costume idea. I came across a struck by lightning costume on a website (no picture included). I started thinking how to do it and my idea won my work Halloween costume contest.

I took a pair of jeans and a button up shirt and burned holes all over with a lighter. I then cut out a cardboard shape of lightning and covered it in tin foil. I taped it to a headband so it would stick up straight. I also got an umbrella which I partially burned and cut to look “hit” by lightning. I crimped out my hair and added blue streaks of blue washable hair gel.

The best part of the costume was chunks of dry ice in a plastic bottle which was hung around my neck with a strap to imitate smoking. It was a hit and very easy to do. It took around three hours to make.
