When the first “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie came out, my teenage daughter fell in love with the wedding gown that Elizabeth Swann is given. Simplicity came out with an “inspired by” pattern that fall and we had fun with it.
The fabric is home dec brocade, fully lined, lace-up and went for the full historically accurate details. Got rid of the zippers in the pattern. It was a runner-up in their costume contest in 2010. Unfortunately by time I finished the gown, my daughter had read a vampire book that had just hit the market and fallen in love with it and wanted to do that. So she combined the two that year.
