Original Homemade Costume: The Joe Paterno Statue

Our company has an annual Halloween Party and the costume competition is very competitive. I knew this year if I had a chance of winning, I had come up with something extremely different. Since I’m a diehard Penn State fan, I thought the idea of doing where is The Joe Paterno statue now…would be a hit. Was I ever right!  I had people lined up to get a picture with me.

The mask was a Ronald Regan mask I bought at a local party store that I spray painted using bronze metallic paint. I got the clothes from the local thrift store and also spray painted those with bronze metallic spray paint. I put wires in the tie and jacket to simulate wind and mimic the same posed used in the original Joe Paterno statue. The toughest part was standing still for 30 minutes, but was it ever worth it.

Overall the costume cost me roughly $25.00 to make.
