Easy Kermit and Miss Piggy Couple’s Costume

It was so hard for me to come up with a great couples costume for myself and my awesome boyfriend. I wanted something original and funny, but also something I would be comfortable portraying as a plus size woman. Famous people tend to be on the more petite side and I didn’t want to feel like a joke. Finally it came to me when I was racking my brain for famous hefty women who had a male partner, but also something out of the ordinary. Kermit and Miss Piggy! Perfect!

Miss Piggy was easy, look hot in a red dress and add a blonde wig and pig appendages, done! It was hard to find ideas on how to home-make Kermit since there were not many references out there. The best thing I could come up with was a green hoodie and tights, so it would seem as if he had a stocky body and tiny skinny legs like a frog. The hardest thing to find was a solid green hoodie believe it or not. After that, all I had to do was glue on a cut-in-half ping pong ball for eyes on the hood, and some felt triangles for his collar.

I didn’t think it would work, but it turned out AWESOME! We even won the costume contest at the party we went to. A highly publicized and very populated event In Memphis, TN. Though I think it was a close call between us and the Mad Hatter and Alice, until Kermit started doin’ it “froggy style” on stage with me…. Ugh, so embarrassing. But, it sealed the deal and got us a quick $500!!! People loved the costume and took pictures with us all night, even if you could totally see Kermit’s underwear all night through his tights!

I love this!!! The eyes look much larger than a Ping Pong ball…are you sure that’s what you used?
