No-Sew Buzz Lightyear Costume for a Toddler

With my son being in love with Buzz Lightyear it was no questions as to what he was going to be. We had the store bought costume for play but as a kid of a mom who made all my costumes I couldn’t bear to let him wear a store bought costume. Although we did use part of it the majority of the costume, gloves, chest piece and wings were made by me. All made with cardboard and duct tape. I shaped it with a large planter and my creativity just took over. It was painted white and the colors where later applied.

We entered our son in our local Halloween parade and he was a hit. I got so many complimnets on it and how well it was made. I do not sew like my Mom  so this is the best I could do and an happy how it turned out.

I think you did a great job!

Of course I’m prejudiced, but great job on the costume!

I think this is adorable. My daughter is also of the school where all her costumes were made by hand and that’s what she wants her kids to remember. So, she ropes me in. I love making costumes for my grandkids and I agree that the thrill of creating your own is indescribable. I’ll use some of your ideas and make some adjustments since it’s for a 10 month old. Thanks for sharing. I’ll post it on my blog when finished and share back with you if you’re interested.
