Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong Costumes for Kids

This year we decided to make the kids Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong. We made the heads by making a cylinder shape out of cardboard and scuplting faces from paper and tape. Then we covered them with paper mache. I put a mix of joint compound and caulk and sanded it to make it as smooth looking as possible. It was painted with acrylic paint and accented with felt.  I made the tie for Donkey Kong out of poster paper covered with felt. The bodies were all purchased. I bought Wreck it Ralph hands for DK’s hands and I spray painted clown shoes for Mario & Luigi.Everyone went crazy over the suits. People wanted to take their pictures with them. A small child walked up to Luigi and hugged him like he was a theme park character!
