The Prettiest Snow White Costume

I suppose every little girl desires to become a princess once, so.. Snow White it is!

I decided to keep this costume very simple; a blouse and a skirt.

Making the blouse

I tailored the blouse without using a pattern (out of my head) using my girl’s measurements, handstitched it, sew some zipper on the back. Snow White has some puffed sleeves, of course. This is my version. The straight end is going to be wrinkled and sewed to the blouse and the rounded end will have some elastic band inside. And the red, tear shaped applications; they should be done with thick zig-zag stitches with red thread.

When little SnowWhite had tried on her new blouse, I decided where to trim a little, so it lookes better on her.

Then I sewed all together with machine.

The Collar

And, the collar! Disney had pictured it so well, but how to make one?

I used some canvas and 1 cm thick foam.

I cut out this  shape out of canvas, sew them together and put some foam inside.

To get that round shape of a collar, I folded collar a little (9 times) and sew. Then I sew the whole collar with this wave line to secure the foam inside.

Then I made some border out of blue fabric so everything would look more neater.

On that border and on neck line on the blouse I handstitched 4 pairs of druckers to hold this collar.

Skirt

I tailored a skirt in 4 pieces because I had bougth less material, so I didn’t have enough for the semicircle.

I inserted a rubber in a waist and skirt was finished in less then half an hour

Grand Finale

This is it – the most prettier Snow White of all!  Well, at least for me :)

Don’t forget the hair bow!

Making this costume med me feel so happy because I dreamed of having this costume when I was my daughter’s age. I know this made her feel very special, at least for a day. Everybody admired her, she was very content :)

So, for the cost lower then 20 dollars, my kid felt like a real princess!
